Our office is new to dealing with 3rd party insurance companies.
Dr. Caldwell is now a provider for Maverest and Careington.
My question…. I have a lot of patients that call asking if we accept their insurance. If Dr. Caldwell has signed up directly with a company I know the answer but there are a lot of insurances that we are not providers for that utilize one of the 3rd party insurances to process their claims.
How can I find out for our patients if we are for sure a provider or not?
Patients would rather hear from us that we are providers but I am stuck on how I can find out.
Do we just call their dental insurance to get our answer or do we need to call the
    3rd party companies?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you!

You would call the patients insurance plan and ask what fee schedule they use and if you are in network. Just because another insurance company processes the claims does not mean you are in network.
